Terms of Service — Codeonix

The short version

Codeonix is free and open-source (MIT licence). Use it for personal or commercial projects. In return, you're responsible for the scripts you run, and you agree not to use Codeonix for anything illegal or harmful. That's pretty much it.

By downloading or using Codeonix you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

The app runs entirely on your machine — your scripts and data are never uploaded anywhere. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we do collect (anonymous analytics, opt-out in Settings → Privacy).

The Codeonix name and logo are not covered by the MIT licence and remain the property of the Codeonix project. The source code is fair game — the branding isn't.

Your responsibilities

Codeonix runs real code on your machine with your user-level permissions. That's powerful — and it means you're in charge.

Only run scripts you trust. A bad script can delete files, access sensitive data, or make network requests. You are solely responsible for any damage caused by scripts you create or run.

Review scripts before running them — whether you wrote them, generated them with AI, or downloaded them from the community. You bear full responsibility for what you run.

Don't use Codeonix for anything illegal — no unauthorised access to systems, no malware, no harassment, no activity that breaks the law.

Keep your API keys secure — keys for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or OpenRouter are stored locally. You're responsible for their security and any costs from their use.

AI features

When you click AI ✦, your prompt is sent directly to the AI provider you've chosen (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or OpenRouter) using your own API key. Your key and prompts never pass through Codeonix servers.

You're responsible for any API costs you incur.
AI-generated code can have bugs or security issues — always review it before running.
Each provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to what you send them.

Disclaimer & liability

Codeonix is provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, always available, or suitable for your specific use case.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages — including data loss, system damage, or costs from AI API usage — arising from your use of Codeonix or any script you run through it.

If these terms change significantly, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post a notice on the site. Continuing to use Codeonix after that means you accept the updated terms.
